These SMS Terms govern your participation in TAF SMS. By opting in, you agree to these SMS Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not opt in.

1) Program description

TAF SMS sends service and (if you separately consent) promotional text messages to customers who opt in. Service messages include application updates, document requests, reminders, appointment confirmations/reschedules, and customer-care follow-ups. Promotional messages may include limited-time offers, inventory highlights, and events.

We are not a direct lender. Messages may relate to vehicle financing options made available through dealers and/or third-party lenders.

2) Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older and a resident of Canada to enroll. Your wireless plan must support SMS. Not all devices or carriers are supported.

3) How you opt in

The primary way to join is by selecting the SMS consent checkbox on our website forms (e.g., finance or contact forms) and clicking Submit. Consent is not a condition of purchase or financing. From time to time, we may offer additional opt-in methods (e.g., in-person/phone consent with documentation). If we enable keyword opt-in, we will clearly disclose it at the point of collection.

After you opt in, you will receive a confirmation message describing the program with instructions to STOP and HELP.

4) Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us (e.g., application steps, appointments). If subscribed to promotions, we typically send about once per week.

5) Fees

Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier’s rates apply to all SMS sent or received. You are responsible for any charges.

6) Opt-out instructions

You can cancel at any time:

- Reply STOP to any message to opt out of that SMS program.

- We also honour common synonyms: END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT.

- After we process your request, you’ll receive a one-time confirmation text.

To opt back in after leaving, submit a new form with SMS consent (or reply START, UNSTOP, or SUBSCRIBE if supported by your carrier).

7) Help / support

8) Link policy & content format

- We include branded links only on thomsonautofinancing.ca (e.g., secure document upload, appointment pages).

- We do not use public URL shorteners (e.g., bit.ly, tinyurl).

- Messages are concise (typically ≤ 310 characters) and we do not use emojis.

9) Privacy (Carrier-required language)

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services (e.g., message delivery providers) is permitted, but text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

10) Your responsibilities

You represent that you are the owner or customary user of the mobile number you provide, and you agree to notify us if you change or relinquish your number. You are responsible for keeping your contact information accurate.

11) Disclaimers

- Delivery of SMS may be delayed or impacted by your carrier/network; wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

- We provide TAF SMS “as is” and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

12) Changes, suspension, or termination

We may modify these SMS Terms or suspend/terminate TAF SMS at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and, when appropriate, notify you. Your continued enrollment after changes constitutes acceptance.
