This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, submit forms, communicate with us, or otherwise use any service that links to this Policy (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy and our Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1) Who we are

TAF helps consumers explore vehicle financing options. We are not a direct lender. With your permission, we share application details with dealers and/or third-party lenders who may evaluate eligibility and make credit decisions. See our Terms for more information.

2) Personal information we collect

We collect personal information in the following categories (as applicable):

- Identifiers & Contact Data: name, email, phone number, address, province/postal code, IP address.

- Application & Eligibility Data: date of birth, residency status, driver’s licence info, employment and income details, housing information, monthly obligations, consent preferences.

- Vehicle & Preference Data: vehicle interests, trade-in details, budget, timeline, communication preferences.

- Communications: messages you send us, call or chat recordings (where permitted), survey responses, reviews/testimonials.

- Technical/Usage Data: device identifiers, browser type, pages visited, referring/exit pages, time stamps, and cookie/SDK data described below.

- Marketing Data: email/SMS subscription status and engagement (opens, clicks), campaign attribution.

- Credit Information: only with your express consent, we or our lending partners may obtain consumer-report information (e.g., from Equifax/TransUnion) to assess eligibility.

We may also collect information from third parties, such as dealers, lead partners (where permitted by law), credit bureaus (with your consent), fraud-prevention providers, and analytics/advertising platforms.

3) How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

1. Provide Services – respond to inquiries, process pre-qualification/finance applications, schedule appointments, and maintain your account or records.

2. Share with dealers/lenders – with your consent, to evaluate eligibility and complete a financing process.

3. Communicate – send service communications (application updates, document requests, reminders) and, if you opt in, promotional offers about vehicles or services.

4. Improve & secure – operate, analyze, and improve our website, prevent fraud/abuse, and ensure security and compliance.

5. Legal & compliance – meet record-keeping obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our agreements.

4) Legal basis / consent

We process personal information with your consent, to perform a requested service, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as fraud prevention and Service improvement—balanced with your privacy rights under PIPEDA and BC PIPA. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 10), though we may be unable to provide certain Services without it.

5) How we share personal information

We share personal information as follows:

- Service Providers (Processors): companies that host our website, provide CRM, analytics, messaging, security, or customer-support services. They may access personal information only to perform services for us and must protect it.

- Dealers & Lenders: with your consent, to evaluate your eligibility and (if approved) to originate or service financing. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies and agreements.

- Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to confidentiality.

- Legal/Compliance: to comply with law, lawful requests, or to protect rights, property, or safety.

We do not sell personal information.

6) Mobile Program Addendum (A2P-required language)

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services (e.g., message delivery providers) is permitted; however, text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

7) Cookies, analytics, and ads

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, understand usage, and (if you consent) measure or personalize advertising.

- Types: strictly necessary; functional; performance/analytics; advertising.

- Choices: most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. If you disable cookies, some features may not work. You can also opt out of certain interest-based ads via your device settings or industry tools (e.g., AdChoices).

- Analytics: we may use tools that collect de-identified usage data (e.g., pages visited, device type). We configure analytics to avoid collecting sensitive fields from forms.

8) Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to satisfy legal/accounting requirements, and to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it. If you withdraw consent, we will cease processing going forward and retain only what is necessary for legal or legitimate business purposes.

9) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and staff training. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use strong passwords and safeguard your devices.

10) Your rights & choices (Canada)

Subject to applicable law, you may:

- Access the personal information we hold about you;

- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;

- Withdraw consent for our processing (including marketing), at any time;

- Request deletion or de-identification where appropriate;

- Ask questions or make a complaint about our privacy practices.

11) Children’s privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12) International transfers

Our service providers and partners may process information outside Canada (e.g., the United States). As a result, your information may be subject to foreign laws and accessible to courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities in those jurisdictions. We take steps to ensure appropriate protections consistent with this Policy.

13) Third-party sites

Our website may link to third-party sites or services that we do not control. Their privacy practices govern their sites; we are not responsible for them. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

14) Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version with a new Effective Date. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the changes.
